This web site has been developed to help us arrange the Golden Reunion of the 1961 KHS Matric class.
When??
Will be held on the weekend starting Friday 23rd September, 2011.
Why in September ??
Because we would all obviously like to visit the old School, attend assembly, have a guided tour of the School - (believe me when I tell you it needs to be guided, because the School has really grown!! ) - and we must be sure the timing does not interfere with exams, etc.
Where??
In good old Kenmare, Krugersdorp, South Africa.

Step 1 - Start the ball rolling.
The first priority was to find and contact all of our 1961 Classmates.

Step 2 - How??
We loaded the 1961 Matric class photo into the data base and then we had to put names to faces. - see Pics from the Past.
Step 3 - And then ?
Once we had the list of our Classmates names, we started searching for contact details.
All of the contact details found have been loaded into our website's database.
Step 4 Invitations
We have sent invitations to all of the Classmates to join the KHS61 Website.
Step 5 - Progress
We have had 32 Classmate sign up out of a total of 66. Unfortunately 8 are deceased.
So this means we still have 26 Classmates to find and register!!!
Step 6 - The planning and organizing phase.

We have formed a committee - See Reunion Committee

We have had a get together of the committee members and the planning phase is now in progress See Feedback
- We have conducted surveys to establish what activites Classmates consider to be a good reunion.
- Our Chairman has made contact with KHOSA and that's where we will have most of our committee meetings, get togethers and no doubt our Golden Reunion Dinner will be held there.
- The 1959 Matric class have just had their reunion at the begining of November.
We have had feedback from a number of people that it was a wonderful reunion, a big success and was really enjoyed by everyone. I had a Skype chat with "Thin John Danilowitz" from Israel. His brother Benjy Danilowitz attended and he is absolutely over the moon with his praise of how stunning the reunion was.

NEWS FLASH!!! 1st MINI REUNION IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
Garth Orsmond and his wife Pat have just had the 1st Mini Reunion with Mandfred Holzman in Sydney Australia!!
Note : - I have received correspondence from both Garth and Manfred, advising that their reunion in Sydney was very enjoyable and rewarding. Also, their getting together was inspired by the KHS61 reunion arrangements, the website, and the contact that classmates have been having now after 48years.

The committe has decided to invite the KHS Matric classes of 1959 / 60 / 61 / 62 to join us in a combined reunion. We need more Classmates to make the reunion a viable and very memorable occasion. We would dearly like to see some of our overseas classmates attending.
We are also going to rely heavily on the advice from the 59ers as they have done the hard yards.
Some good advice to all future Matric classes. Start your planning early...Don't wait for 48 years before you start trying to find classmates, as we have!!!!
Open a website as soon as you have finished your Matric year. Put all your classmates and contact details in the system. You will be able to arrange 10, 20 year etc. reunions extremely easily with the functionality that this site gives you. For more info Click on the ClassCreator logo.
